Invitation to Public Dialogue: Negotiating, Mediating and Preventing Insurgency & Terrorism

The President of the Republic of Uganda, H.E Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, in his condolence message to the people of Kenya following the attack on Garissa University, said the terrorism threat by extremist forces is one of the most urgent problems facing our region. He pointed out that we all need to work together to move forward the frontiers of peace and eliminate terrorism from our midst. “May this horrendous massacre of our children not break our spirit in the struggle against terrorism and extremism but, instead, strengthen our resolve even further and bring us closer together,” he stated.

In solidarity with Garissa University and the People of Kenya; the M.A. Peace and Conflict Studies Programme, Department of Religion and Peace Studies is organising a public dialogue aimed at initiating research and academic thinking to develop strategies to strengthen the frontiers of peace, prevent crime, terrorism and insurgency.
