Mak CHUSS & UNESCO-Uganda World Philosophy Day

CHUSS Department of Philosophy together with  UNESCO-Uganda will be celebrating the World Philosophy Day tomorrow Thursday 17th November 2022. It will take place at Makerere University Senate Upper Conference Hall level 4 from 9.00 am -1.00pm.
 
The World Philosophy Day offers an opportunity both to celebrate the immense contribution made by Philosophy in understanding the world and to further reflect. This year, the celebration of the day coincides with Makerere University’s celebration of 100 years  of existence and service for improving individual, national and global lives.
 
The theme of the workshop is, "Harnessing Philosophy for addressing Uganda’s Development  challenges". Amidst the ongoing debates on the importance of the Humanities, the debate at this event are purposed to steer conversation among the academia, government, civil society and the general public on how Philosophy can inform progress in various aspects of individual and national aspirations.
