Play Talk Change Conference: 24th-25th June 2021

The None in Three (Ni3) research Centre Uganda hosted under the Department of Social Work and Social Administration at Makerere University in collaboration with the Ni3 research centres in India, Jamaica and the UK cordially invite you to participate in a two-day online conference on a theme- Play. Talk. Change. (PTC). The conference will take place on Thursday 24th and Friday 25th June 2021 from 5:00pm-8:45pm on Day One and 1:30pm-5:45pm on Day Two.

About PTC

Play. Talk. Change. (PTC) is a youth-led initiative from the None in Three (Ni3) research Centre focusing on developing pro-social games as a means for violence prevention in India, Jamaica, Uganda and the UK. The conference is being organized by young people in each of these countries.

Through PTC, Ni3 research centres are empowering young people to speak up against violence and to share their insights on the processes, the challenges and the potential of creating research-driven, pro-social computer games to end violence. You can expect high profile keynote speakers and showcases of the Ni3 video games.

The conference is designed by young people, for young people, but we welcome people of all ages. We will be thrilled if you are able to attend one or more of the conference sessions.

We would also be extremely grateful if you would consider forwarding this invitation to students/young people who might be inspired by the work of the young people involved with our Centre and to anyone in your network who shares an interest in game development, education and/or prevention of gender-based violence.

About the Ni3

Ni3 takes its name from the statistic that 1 in 3 women worldwide will experience gender-based violence (GBV) in their lifetime. Ni3's mission is to make this 0 in 3. They do this by bringing together social science researchers with game developers to create innovative, interactive, anti-violence computer games. At the heart of Ni3's work is the certainty that young people have the power to change the world. By working together with the next generation we can build a future free from GBV.

Thank you for your interest in our work.
