CHUSS gets state of the Art Resource Centre

The College of Humanities and Social SciencesMakerere University with support from the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida Phase III, Humanities sub-programme) has remodelled Lecture Room 3 at the former Faculty of Arts into a state of the art resource centre.

The facility was officially commissioned yesterday, by the Principal of CHUSS,Prof. Edward K. Kirumira, at a function witnessed by among others the DeanSchool of Liberal and Performing ArtsDr Byaruhanga Rukooko; a representative from Internal Audit, Mr Benson Barigye; the Head Department of Philosophy & Development StudiesDr Wilfred Lajul and the contractor from Edgeline Services Limited.

The Resource Centre has been furnished with computers, a printer, projector and projector screen. It is fully connected to Local Area network (LAN) as well as wireless and has a sitting capacity of 40 people. The Centre usage will be supervised by Dr. Lajul.

The works were supervised by Ms Caroline Namutosi from the Estates Department.

Speaking at the function, the Principal expressed gratitude to the Swedish government and the Directorate of Research and Graduate Training for the support. He called for the protection and efficient utilization of the facility for the benefit of all staff and students.
