Fees increment by 10% for First Year Students

At its emergency meeting held on 26^th August 2014, the Makerere University Council received and considered the proceedings of the meetings between His Excellency President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and the Makerere University Team on the increment of fees by 10% for First Year Students and approved that:

1. The 10% fees increment for First Year students (both Ugandan and International) be suspended for the Academic Year 2014/15
2. For those students who had already paid the 10% fees increment, the money should be carried forward to the second Semester of the Academic Year 2014/15.
3. Following His Excellency President Museveni’s pledge to pay Ug. Shs. 2.4 billion  to cover the would be revenue earned from the 10% fees increment for the Academic Year 2014/15, the current first year students will pay the fees as specified in the fees structure of the Academic Year 2013/2014.
4. All First Year Students should be billed using the Fees Structure of the 2013/14 Academic Year.
