Psychology wins 2017 Quiz Competition

The School of Psychology emerged best at this year’s quiz competition held on 9th May in the University Main Hall. The School was represented by The winning teamAbeneitwe Albert, Nyokatre Kennedy, Dhabona Job Adict, Mitara Umaru and Kalibakate Jemimah.

The School of Liberal and Performing Arts emerged second followed by the School of Social Sciences in third position; School of Languages, Literature and Communication in fourth position and the School of Women and Gender Studies in fifth position. Each School was represented by five students.

The day’s judges were Dr Julius Kikooma, Dean School of Psychology, and Ms Jane Frances Alowo and Mr Davies Rwabu from the School of Languages, Literature and Communication.

They examined students on a wide range of issues related to Makerere University, politics, religion, computer science, sports, and the Performing Arts industry.  

 In his remarks, the Principal of CHUSS, Prof. Edward K. Kirumira, implored students to actively participate in the quiz noting that it not only creates The adjudicatorsteamwork but develops their intellectual capacity. He pledged continued support towards the activity.

The event was crowned with an award giving ceremony. The winning team received a cash prize, plaque and certificates of excellence. The second team was given a plaque and certificates of participation. All representatives of the last three teams got certificates of participation.

The function was graced by among others the Chief Security Officer of Makerere University, Asp Jackson Mucunguzi.

The CHUSS Quiz Competition is an annual event held amongst the five schools of the College. The first quiz competition held in 2014 was won by the School of Languages, Literature and Communication.
