I am Charles Tweheyo, an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Political Science and Public Administration, School of Social Sciences, College of Humanities and Social Sciences (CHUSS), Makerere University. My academic and intellectual interests are grounded in political economy, with particular emphasis on governance, democratic institutions, public policy, international relations, and socioeconomic development.
My scholarly engagement focuses on examining the complex interplay between political institutions, economic structures, governance processes, and development outcomes, particularly within Uganda and the broader African context. Through teaching, research, and critical policy discourse, I seek to advance interdisciplinary perspectives on contemporary political and development challenges.
I am also involved in academic initiatives associated with the Great Lakes Centre for the Study of the United States at Makerere University, which fosters international scholarly collaboration, research partnerships, and intellectual exchange. Beyond the classroom, I contribute to public scholarship through political and socioeconomic analysis, with a commitment to bridging academic inquiry, evidence-informed policymaking, and public engagement.
