Biography

I am Dr. Martin Kizito, an academic, researcher, and public policy specialist with expertise in governance, public administration, policy evaluation, and institutional development. I hold a PhD in Public Policy, specialising in Policy Evaluation, from the University of Pretoria, South Africa; a Master’s degree in Public Administration and Management and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Makerere University; and a Postgraduate Diploma in Monitoring and Evaluation from the Uganda Management Institute.

My academic and research interests focus on public policy analysis, governance systems, monitoring and evaluation, and evidence-informed decision-making, with particular emphasis on developing contextually relevant approaches to evaluating public policies and programmes in Africa. My doctoral research examined the African Peer Review Mechanism and contributed to the development of a Made in Africa Evaluation Framework.

Throughout my academic career, I have been actively involved in university teaching, research, academic leadership, and capacity development. I am committed to advancing African-centred scholarship, strengthening governance institutions, and promoting research that informs public policy and sustainable development across the continent.
