Biography

Nicholas Mugabi (PhD) is a Lecturer in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology, School of Social Science at Makerere University. He holds a double degree PhD in Social Work, University of Gothenburg, Sweden, and a PhD in Sociology, Makerere University, Uganda. He also has an advanced Master of Science in Development Evaluation & Management from the University of Antwerp, Belgium, Masters of Arts in Sociology, and Bachelors of Arts in Social Sciences from Makerere University, Uganda. Nicholas has vast experience in the education sector, Monitoring and Evaluation, research, and community engagement. He is also passionate at Digitation and AI, ICT4D, Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) of projects and programs. For the last 16 years, Nicholas has participated in university teaching and social research at Makerere University, University of Antwerp, and the Infectious Disease Institute-Iganga-Mayuge Demographic Surveillance Site. He has also led several research and M&E consultancies with CSOs such as Restless Development-Uganda, Goals of Hope-Uganda, Lutheran World Relief, World Vision, among others. He is an advisor and Board member of several CSOs and social enterprises. He has also published academic articles in the fields of education, ICT4D, financial inclusion, community livelihood, children’s rights, and agricultural development
