Biography

Dr. Naomi Namanya is an academic researcher and lecturer within the Department of Religion and Peace Studies at the College of Humanities and Social Sciences (CHUSS), Makerere University. She holds a PhD in Religious Ethics, Moral Theology, and Education, which she successfully defended in September 2024. Her academic publications, including contributions to the Mawazo Journal, actively investigate curriculum reforms and advocate for ethical impropriety reviews in the regional education sector.

Beyond her core philosophical and ethical research, Dr. Namanya is a prominent advocate for student mental health and psychosocial support. Serving as a Co-Principal Investigator on university-led mental health initiatives, she collaborates across colleges to equip school administrators, parents, and teachers with essential skills in mental health literacy and career guidance. Dr. Namanya is particularly dedicated to addressing the psychological stress induced by forced academic career paths, championing balanced subject selection that respects individual learner talents.
