Learning from Success: Resilience Theory as a Framework for Social Research Among At-Risk Populations

Resilience theory is widely used in social work research. However, the theory is used in multiple ways and may have
multiple meanings. At this seminar, Dr. Esther Nanfuka at Makerere University will give us an introduction to the theory, challenge some conventional understandings, and demonstrate how the theory can be used in a fruitful way to study at-risk populations.

The Keynote Speaker is Dr Esther Nanfuka Kalule, from the Department of Social Work and Social Administration at
Makerere University.
