The Department of History, Archaeology, and Heritage Studies will be hosting a three-day workshop on “Histories of Climate and Migration in Uganda”, scheduled to take place on September 8 – 10, 2026, in the CHUSS Smart Room, Makerere University, Kampala. The workshop is organized by the Department of History, Archaeology, and Heritage Studies, School of Liberal and Performing Arts, in collaboration with the University of Cambridge, under the Mastercard Foundation and University of Cambridge Climate Resilience and Sustainability Research grant.

This workshop will bring together scholars, practitioners, and members of refugee communities in Uganda, to discuss historical perspectives on migration, displacement, climate change, and the environment. The event is by invitation only.
