Dr. Kajumba Mayanja is a Senior Lecturer and a clinical/medical psychologist in the Department of Mental Health and Community Psychology at Makerere University. He has served as head of the medical and clinical psychology unit and is an active researcher and supervisor in topics spanning neurophysiology, epilepsy, depression, pain modulation and mental health service delivery.
Dr. Mayanja holds a PhD in Health Psychology and Neuroscience, and his publications and research projects focus on the neurophysiology of physical and mental illness, brain circuitry, psychoneurophysiological mechanisms and clinical mental health issues such as epilepsy and treatment-resistant depression. He is co-author on multiple peer-reviewed articles and participates in interdisciplinary teams addressing neurological and psychiatric disorders in Uganda.
