Dr. Sophie Lakot Oyat is a Lecturer in the Department of Literature at Makerere University, where she nurtures the next generation of African literary scholars. She holds a PhD from the College of Humanities and Social Sciences at Makerere University, specializing in urban literary and cultural studies. Her teaching and research focus on African literature, oral traditions, and the intersection of gender and narrative forms in post-colonial Africa. Dedicated to academic excellence, she actively engages undergraduate students in critical discourse, exploring how text and culture shape contemporary societal identities
