My name is Nabirye Zaina Lubwama, an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of History, Archaeology and Heritage Studies. I am a heritage and museum specialist and I enjoy using my skills to teach students issues of heritage and museums. I also do community engagement through sensitizing communities about the significance of historical sites, identify and document historical/heritage sites to ensure their preservation. I graduated from the University of the Western cape (South Africa) with a Post Graduate Diploma in Museum and Heritage Studies (2019) and a Master of Arts (2010-2012). Both programs sponsored by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation and the Robben Island Museum (South Africa). A Bachelor of Arts from Makerere University (2002-2006). I am currently, pursuing a PhD in Heritage in the Department of History, Archaeology and Heritage Studies at Makerere University (2024-2027) sponsored by the Gerda Henkel Stiftung Foundation.
