Biography

Dr. Samuel Wandera is an esteemed academic, researcher, and Lecturer of French language, literature, and educational technologies in Uganda. He serves within the School of Languages, Literature and Communication (SLLC) at Makerere University’s College of Humanities and Social Sciences (CHUSS). Dr. Wandera earned his Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from the Université de Rouen in France, specializing in French language structures, international relations, and francophone literature coordination. Known as a dynamic figure in language education pedagogy, he actively contributes to high-profile academic networks and professional bodies, including the International Federation of French Teachers (FIPF), to advance modern language frameworks across East Africa.
 
At the forefront of academic modernization, Dr. Wandera’s research sits at the vital intersection of traditional humanistic studies and digital learning ecosystems. He has published and presented extensively on digital pedagogy, focusing specifically on optimizing French language curriculum pathways and online assessment frameworks using Learning Management Systems (LMS). Alongside peer researchers at CHUSS, his pioneering work addresses the challenges of remote education by designing innovative, tech-driven course modules that evaluate linguistic skills digitally. Through this dedication to educational technology (EdTech), Dr. Wandera continues to reshape multi-lingual teaching methodologies and enhance the graduation outcomes of future language professionals in the region.
