We would like to express our sincere gratitude to Makerere University and our host University of Hradeck Králové for an opportunity to benefit from the Agreement of Cooperation between the two Institutions. We were nominated for a study programme in History and Archaeology at the University of Hradeck Králové in the Philosophical Faculty, Department of Archaeology in the winter term of academic year 2022/2023 (from 12.09.2022 -26.01.2023). We will study History and Archaeology courses that complement our classes at Makerere University while also taking advantage of the opportunity for cultural and scholarly interactions with students and faculty in the Czech Republic.
The nominated and participating students are Nakamyuka Norah Winnie, Ssebuyungo Christopher, Kiwanuka Paul Batwerinde and Mutudi Gonza. We are M.A. students in the Department of History, Archaeology and Heritage Studies, School of Liberal and Performing Arts in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences (CHUSS) at Makerere University. The scholarship covers our stay in the Czech Republic including travel expenses.
We thank the Vice Chancellor, the International Office (Ms. Martha Muwanguzi), the School Dean, the College Principal, and the Department of History, Archaeology and Heritage Studies for nominating us to participate in this academic program. We hope this international cooperation is maintained.
