The College of Humanities and Social Sciences, through the Department of Literature, is organising the Mak@100 Centennial Poetry Competition Award Event. The event will take place at the Yusuf Lule Central Teaching Facility on Tuesday, December 20, 2022 and will showcase live performances, readings, and recitations.
During the event, we will also honor the memory of the renowned poet and scholar, Prof David Rubadiri who was and still is part of the history and experience of the Department of Literature and Makerere University. We have invited his family to grace this occasion.
This event has deliberately mainstreamed the participation of students from the Department and those from the wider university as we aim at encouraging and inspiring more creative writers and literary scholars at Makerere University and beyond.
