The School of Women and Gender Studies (SWGS), College of Humanities and Social Sciences, Makerere University in partnership with Isis-Women International Cross Cultural Exchange (Isis-WICCE) has been implementing a three-month Gender-Capacities enhancement outreach training programme.  Isis-WICCE is a feminist organisation that works with women in conflict and post conflict situations. The programme targeted enhancing the skills and knowledge of Isis-WICCE staff in Feminist and Gender analysis, research and documentation, planning and gender aware advocacy for gender responsive conflict resolution and peace building.

The training programme which was implemented in three months (June-August,2015) was part of SWGS’s outreach programme that targets creating a formidable force of intellectuals with the ability to comprehend gender dynamics, plan and advocate for gender equality from an informed position. The closing ceremony will enable participants to reflect on their critical role as actors in the women’s movement as well as commit themselves to the common cause of attaining substantive gender  equality in the country.
