Agatha Tumwine
Agatha Tumwine holds a Master’s degree in French as a Foreign Language from University of Rouen, an Mphil. in French Language Studies from the University of Artois, a Bachelor of Arts degree from Makerere University and a Diploma in Education from Kyambogo University. She is currently an Assistant Lecturer in French at Makerere University. She is a great translator and has extensive experience in Conference Interpreting and, has worked at several Regional and International Conferences as an Interpreter (English-French). She is Board Member of Serving Hearts-Uganda and is involved in the leadership of two Women Groups in Uganda. Her research interests are in the areas of Translation studies and ICT and Foreign/ Second Language acquisition. Her PhD project is entitled: Translation of Oral Literature: Gains and Losses in the translation of Shutama Nkuteekyerereze by F.K.Karwemera from Runyankore–Rukiga into French
Balikowa Richard
Balikowa Richard holds a Master of Educational Psychology, a Bachelor of Arts with Education (Mak) and an Advanced Certificate in Social Research Methods (Clemson University-USA). He is a faculty in the Department of Educational, Social and Organisational Psychology. He has taught Social and Educational Psychology at Makerere University since 2010. He is a bona fide member of the International Society for Study of Behavioural Development (ISSBD) and has embarked on the Psychological exploration of the Education related dynamics. He has also embarked on Psychological study of the state and development of children in African societies; with his current Doctoral Project on how Psychosocial Constructs affect education and relates to Gender-based Violence among School Children in Ugandan societies.
Nakalawa Lynda
Nakalawa Lynda holds a Masters of Arts in clinical psychology, Mphil. in Public Mental Health and BA. Community Psychology. She has taught Psychology at Makerere University since 2010, and worked extensively with youth in Uganda since 2007, consulting for multiple organizations. Her work and research focuses on resilience. For her PhD, she is working on a project entitled “The Dilemma of Youth Empowerment Initiatives in Uganda: Exploring a Mental Attitude Change Approach.”
Wamamela Nixon
Wamamela Nixon holds a BA and MA in Philosophy of Makerere University. He is an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Philosophy Makerere University. He is also the President of the Uganda Philosophy Society. His PhD topic is “Post-colonial Legislation in the Context of Liberal Democracy in Uganda”.
Kamya Bazilio
Kamya Bazilio is a PhD candidate in Humanities and Social Sciences at Makerere University. He holds a Masters of Arts in Human Resource Management of Makerere University and Bachelor of Arts in Social Work and Social Administration of UCU. He is an Assistant Lecturer in the department of Development and Organization studies at Makerere University. His current PhD project is entitled: “Public Service Delivery in Uganda: an interrogation of pre-colonial and post -colonial eras.”
Nicholas Tunanukye
Nicholas Tunanukye, is an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of History Makerere University. He specialises in Socio-economic History. He has a Bachelor of Arts with Education (2005-2008) and a Masters of Arts History (2014-2017). He is currently interrogating “Historical relationship between Migrancy, Nativism and Citizenship in Uganda, 1894-1995” supported by The Andrew W Mellon Foundation for his PhD.
John Baptist Imokola
John Baptist Imokola is an experienced journalist, working through news reporting, to heading two national Television newsrooms. He is a journalism trainer, currently at Makerere University Department of Journalism and Communication, as an Assistant Lecturer. His research interests are in TV and Film, Media Management and News and Culture. For his PhD, he is working on the topic: “Television Local Content Regulation in a Multi-Cultural Uganda: An Exploratory Study under the supervision of Prof Gorreti L. Nassanga and Dr Brian Ssemuju.
