Dear prospective students of Makerere University,
On behalf of the Management team and all staff and continuing students of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences, we wish to congratulate all students who have been admitted to Makerere University. Your admission is no mean achievement and should always be valued.
As you warm up to join this prestigious University, we wish to take this opportunity to inform you that Makerere has a number of policies that should be respected by all stakeholders. All the policies can be accessed on the University website through the web link…www.policies.mak.ac.ug.
However, the policy we would like to put to your attention at the moment is that on fees payment. As some of you may be aware, the policy requires all students to pay full fees at the beginning of the semester. In situations that you are unable to raise full fees at the beginning of the semester, you are required to pay at least 60% of the tuition fees and all functional fees. We therefore wish to let you know that no student will be issued an admission letter without adhering to the policy. Please encourage your parents and guardians to adhere to the policy to avoid any inconvenience.

Attached herewith is an extract from the University fees payment policy and a full complation of the computation of the 60% fees payment.
Please note:
- Students with 100% can pay the entire sum
- 60% is of tution, hence you have to pay the full function fees (Ugandans - Shs 576,500 and International - Shs 1,097,400) plus the 60% of tutions fees. see the attachments for full details
