The Royal Saudi Arabian Embassy through the Department of European and Oriental Languages has donated a laptop, four photocopiers, scanners and printers, a projector and projector screen as well as Internet connection equipment worth Shs12, 548,000 to the College. The equipment has been shared amongst the Schools of Liberal and Performing Arts; Languages, Literature and Communication and the Office of the Principal. The Principal and Dean, School of Languages, Literature and Communication, through the Head Department of European and Oriental Languages, Dr Edith Natukunda – Tagboa, expressed gratitude to the Embassy for the continued support to the subject of Arabic and the College at large.
Meanwhile, Powernet Electrical Installations Ltd has also donated a water dispenser worth Shs1 million to the School of Languages, Literature and Communication. The dispenser was handed to the Dean, Assoc. Prof. Aaron Mushengyezi, at a ceremony witnessed by among others the Principal and Dr Natukunda. Powernet Electrical Installations Ltd has previously donated water dispensers to different units of the University. The Managing Director, Mr Nabisiima Absorom Bwesigye, said the company donates water dispensers on a quarterly basis in a bid to promote safe water usage in and around the city. He requested the College to forward him a list of units in need of the dispensers for future consideration.
