Aminah Nakaliisa

Aminah Nakaliisa is an Assistant Lecturer of German at Makerere University’s School of Languages, Literature & Communication, within the Department of European and Oriental Languages. Her profound engagement with the German language began during secondary school and has been a central focus of her academic and professional career. Ms. Nakaliisa completed her Bachelor's degree in Education with German and Religion at Makerere University, followed by a Master’s degree in German Studies from the University of Nairobi. Her Master’s research, conducted at the University Carl von Ossietzky in Oldenburg, concentrated on translation, highlighting her expertise in this nuanced field. With a robust teaching background, Ms. Nakaliisa has imparted her knowledge at various institutions, including Kibuli S.S., the University of Burundi, and the University of Rongo. At Makerere University, she specializes in German language didactics, literary texts, and literary history, and also serves as the exam coordinator for her department. Her dedication to the advancement of German studies is evident in her enthusiastic approach to teaching and her ongoing pursuit of a PhD, aimed at further enhancing her expertise and contributing to the field.
