
Guest of the Publishing Laboratory on the Milan campus of the Catholic University on Wednesday 25 October, the Ugandan poet Susan Kiguli met the students and talked about her poetic production and studies on popular song.
During the meeting entitled "Publishing and civil poetry in Africa: meeting with Susan Kiguli" Kiguli spoke with the journalist Antonella Sinopoli after the introduction of the University professors Beatrice Nicolini, professor of African history and institutions, and Roberto Cicala, publisher and teacher of book and multimedia publishing.
Active in support of women's writing in Africa, the poet and associate professor of literature at Makerere University has also been a founding member of the NGO Femrite (Uganda Women Writers' Association) since 1995. The opportunity for a dialogue with Professor Roberto Cicala's students is the release of his first book in Italy on November 11th which will be presented during the civil poetry festival: Terre che piangono edited by Antonella Sinopoli with translation by Marta Zonca (ed. Interlinea).
