Born on August 14, 1965, in Uganda, Scovia has dedicated her career to enhancing administrative processes within academic institutions, particularly at Makerere University. Her academic qualifications include a series of certifications in office practice, business English, and office management, alongside specialized training in information technology and customer care.
Scovia's professional journey began in 1986 when she joined YMCA Kampala Branch as a Copy Typist. In 1993, she transitioned to Makerere University, starting in the Personnel Office as a Principal Copy Typist. Over the years, she was progressively promoted to more senior positions, culminating in her current role as an Assistant Administrative Secretary as of July 1, 2024. Her career at Makerere has seen her serve in various capacities, including Steno-Secretary, Personal Secretary, and Administrative Secretary II.
In addition to her role at Makerere, Scovia has gained proficiency in multiple areas of office management through numerous certifications. She completed the End User Training Program in Information Technology at Makerere University, the Records and Information Management Course at the Centre for Procurement Management, and several customer care and office management programs.
