As advertised, preparations for the Foreign Languages Conference 2014(FLC 2014) are in full gear to be held in Makerere University, Kampala, from the 20th to 22nd August. The Foreign Languages Conference, 2014 organized by Department of European and Oriented Languages (DEOL) is within the School of Languages, Literature and Communication (SLLC) under the College of Humanities and Social Sciences.
Abstracts papers have already been received around the conference theme of Foreign languages; lessons from the past perspectives for the future.
The proceedings of this conference will have a landmark effect on the future of foreign language teaching in Third World Countries since the qualifying peer reviewed papers will be published in a Book to mark “50 Years of Foreign Language Teaching in Makerere University”.

The Head of the Department of Literature cordially invites all of you to a public talk by Prof. Taiwo Adetunji Osinubi on “Abolitionism and the OSU Marriage novels, 1956-1976”.
Prof. Taiwo Adetunji Osinubi works in the Department of English at the University of Western Ontario. A specialist in Literatures of the African Diaspora, his interests in African, American and British Literatures include travel writing, critical race studies, and the conjunctions among modernisms, postmodernisms and media ecology.
