THE 8TH PAN AFRICA SOCIETY FOR MUSICAL ARTS EDUCATION CONFERENCE

The main aim of the conference is to provide and promote an interdisciplinary forum for scholars investigating inter-cultural issues that impact on the delivery and dispensation of musical arts education including, but not limited to:
 
  • ownership of musical arts in contemporary Africa
  • coping with the changing tastes: prescribed curriculums versus pupils’ ‘own music’
  • cross-cultural influences on musical arts dispensation as expressed in teaching, performing, research, demonstrations, etc

History Forum: The Role of History in Nation Building

The Department of History, Archaeology and Organisational Studies is organizing a History Forum due to take pleace on 9th August 2013 at Makerere University Senate Upper Conference Hall from 8:00am t0 5:00pm

This Forum has been organized by the department to take stock of the history is playing in Uganda and how this role can be further enhanced. It is envisage that by the end of the Forum, action plans will be drawn on the promotion of the teaching of history in Ugandan Universities.

The proposed activities of the day are; Presentations speeches and group discussions.

Pro. Lwanga Lunyiigo a renowned historian and acknowledged author of Uganda's history will deliver the keynote specch.
